Application Notes
The filament must be lit before drawing d-c. load current. The filament voltage should be phased so the a-c. voltage (with the tube out of the socket and some d-c. load connected) from pin #1 to pin #2 is lower than from pin #1 to pin #3. This phasing of filament voltage relative to anode voltage insures a lower arc drop and somewhat longer life.
