Application Notes
The EL 5B Heavy Duty has a much larger heat shielded cathode than the EL 5B Standard and is designed for service where the load fluctuates violently, or where exceptionally long life is desired. Load and filament voltage may be applied simultaneously without immediate damage, but life is materially shortened by each such cold start.
