Recommended maximum values of plate voltage and d-c output current must not be exceeded. For a given value of a-c input voltage, the choke-input type filter will give somewhat less d-c output voltage than obtained with a condenser-input filter, but has the advantage of reducing the peak plate current and improving the voltage regulation. Provision should be made for adequate ventilation to prevent overheating.
